Then along came digital copiers and the purple_ink mimeograph machine disappeared. But the teaching tool that the mimeograph machine spawned _ the worksheet _ has lived on... and on... and on. For decades _ literally decades _ teachers have been enamored with worksheets. So what is the bottom line? Are worksheets a serious teaching tool or an over_used form of busy work? The answer, of course, is both.
When you're teaching your student to write, there are a whole host of worksheets online that you can use. Many of these include clipart that will help the students learn the sounds of letters and letter combinations. There are other sheets that help the student learn to write his or her numbers. It's helpful having printable worksheets for something like this, because parents often go through quite a few of these before the child masters writing the numbers or letters correctly.
Creating a Sum across worksheets. This is also an inter_active link. If a number changes on one worksheet, the sheet with the summary formula will also be updated. If a worksheet is inserted between worksheets in the sum, the sum will automatically be updated. Some of the disadvantages of this method are that all of the linked cells must be in the same location on all worksheets. Also, you can only sum one cell at a time (although you can copy the formula to other cells in the summary worksheet.) Using group mode to create identical spreadsheets will help when using the sum function across worksheets. This method is also limited to within a workbook and cannot be done across workbooks.

Move Between Worksheets in a Workbook _ With up to 1꯸ worksheets possible in a Microsoft Excel workbook, try these keyboard shortcuts to toggle or cycle between worksheets: Next worksheet: [Ctrl] + [Page Down] Previous worksheet: [Ctrl] + [Page Up] 3. Easy Worksheet Management _ Right_click on any sheet tab (Sheet1, Sheet2, etc.) for a shortcut menu of worksheet options. This is a quick way to rename, delete, add, apply colors to worksheet tabs, copy, and more. By the way, you can also rename a worksheet by double_clicking on any sheet tab (Sheet1, Sheet2, etc.) to highlight the sheet name. Type a new name and press [Enter]. Tip: avoid ALL CAPS which increases the width of the sheet name and decreases how many worksheets can be displayed in one view. 4. Insert a New Worksheet _ Just press [Shift] + [F11] to create a new worksheet. 5. Fast Worksheet Copy.
